i hope the punishment for you arrives gently,
i hope the punishment for you arrives gently,
never loud, never cruel
just soft enough to undo you.
i hope it comes in the memory
of how my lips once brushed yours,
barely there,
just enough for you to wonder
if you imagined the warmth
or if it was really me
smiling into your mouth.
i hope it comes when you taste something sweet,
a berry tint lingering on your tongue,
and without meaning to,
you pause.
because it reminds you
of a moment you were never supposed to have.
and i hope it comes on an ordinary day,
when you’re walking beside her,
your fingers laced with hers,
moving through some random shop
with too-bright lights and too-familiar scents.
and suddenly,
a perfume that almost matches mine
passes between you
and your chest tightens
in that quiet, traitorous way,
the way regret does
when it knows it’s too late
to turn back.
not because you want me,
not because you’re unhappy,
but because a part of you
that you tried to bury
still remembers
and remembering
is its own kind of punishment.

I wish that we could have a place that we could share
Not only stolen moments in abandoned halls
Quiet touch in elevators and bathroom stalls.

I love you. "Always."
If both witnessing you and not witnessing you hurts me just the same, I don’t know which ache I should live with.
To see you in fragments, in stories, in the spaces we used to fill together; is to feel the weight of everything we are but can’t name. Your voice in the room still finds its way to me, your laugh still reaches like a thread I instinctively want to tug on, even if I know the spool has long been buried.
And yet, not seeing you at all makes the ache worse in another way.. like forgetting the exact shade of someone’s eyes and spending years trying to recall it in the dark.
What kind of choice is that?
To stay close and bleed quietly, or walk away and grieve a death no one else acknowledges.
This isn’t love the way it’s written in books. I don’t get to win in this. I only get to choose which loss I can carry.

"You're used to driving alone, right? You should remember this."

Today I held in my tears while laughing with my clients;
it creeps me out in the most random of time.
but then I think it's funny how I call it grief;
and what lives.
as if it was swept in by the wind.

"bukan dipeluk, tapi ini cukup."

I think the cure to messy, chaotic head is another pair of ears eagerly listening to what it spew.
I think what we had that night was enough. Perfect.
Accompanied by our favorite dish, just the right amount of laughter, and slightly too much cursing.
Why is it that I always have too much fun whenever i'm with you?

do we all have the liberation to define, what defines us? I once said to someone, that our work shouldn't define who we are; that our failure in works don't mean a failure in life. But who am I to say that? I think it's completely fine if someone wants to base their personality off of their works.
If my personality isn't revolve around my work, then what is it made of? My passion? as if I have one. My hobbies? Watching nonsense on Netflix, sleeping, playing some sports? Nah, those are just the things I do to fill up the days.
Then what makes up my personality? what makes up yours?
